Kim and I were shopping at Target this evening, when a woman passing by with her shopping cart paused and asked, "Did you two go to Harvey Mudd?" It was Jeannie (or however she spells it), without whom our dorm rooms in East would have been a disaster (and our laundry would have spent a bit less time nicely folded). We talked a bit; she's working out in Linde these days. The people you meet when you live in Claremont...

[I randomly ran into a great uncle of mine at a local restaurant a few months ago, too. Of course, he lives in Colorado, so that was a little bit more of a surprise.]

For half a moment, my brain was still thinking "Stu and Kim = Chicago", and I was like "whoaaa...". Still nifty, but slightly less mind-blowing. ;)

I love Jeannie. Seriously.

The same Jeannie who had a habit of bringing students' clean clothes back to their rooms from the dryer?

I don't know that she often brought peoples' clothes back to their rooms. But clothes left in the dryer for any appreciable amount of time had a habit of showing up folded on the counter. (Occasionally, laundry in a washing machine would mysteriously migrate into a dryer as well.) And at least once, a basket full of clean underwear that I'd brought back to my room but hadn't had time to put away yet mysteriously ended up neatly folded and put away in the appropriate drawer. Jeannie is awesome. (And knowing that she was likely to do those things made us--or at least me--more likely to get to my laundry promptly, since we knew we'd be giving her extra work otherwise.)
